Anthea McIntyre, a Conservative member of the European Parliament, who represents the West Midlands recently attacked unnecessary European regulations affecting businesses in Britain. She told the Employment committee of the European Parliament “It is essential to cut red tape and allow the people who run small businesses to concentrate on the activity of the business rather than on unnecessary administration”
She pointed to the fall in unemployment and increase in the number of jobs in Britain as a result of the British government’s removing unnecessary restrictions on business and concluded the E.U. “should also be looking at ways we can attract business, both manufacturing and service industries, to come back to European shores”
Anthea McIntyre is much respected in the E.U. Parliament for her work in this policy area and has been invited by the European Conservatives and Reformists group, the third largest grouping in the E.U. Parliament, to chair their working group on Better Regulation, Cutting Red-tape and Re-shoring.
